The former Italian athlete from São Paulo highlighted moments with Rogério Ceni
Eder left São Paulo at the end of last season, working extensively with Rogério Ceni. Now at Criciúma, the former tricolor has recounted the moments alongside the former club coach Morumbi, comparing him to the great coaches of Europe, but criticizing a specific question from the professor.
The striker did not have much room under Ceni’s command, but even so he said this was not a problem and that he bears no hard feelings. In an interview with the ‘UOL’ portal, he commented that the only point missing for the former goalkeeper’s coaching job to be better is ‘a little more dialogue, as well as Ancelotti and Mancini’. Eder added that the tricolor idol must be “even more of a psychologist”.
– I could stay here and speak ill of Rogerio, because I haven’t played much with him. But he is a boy who goes through the stages of what we talk about as a coach … What he lacks to be different is a little dialogue that Ancelotti, Mancini has. Be a little more psychologist – highlighted.
Eder said Rogério Ceni has always stood out in the tactical side, but stressed that he needs to learn more to ‘manage the group’, given that during his time as coach of São Paulo, Ceni always demanded a lot from the team , but ‘that I should back out sometimes’, also underlining the issue of younger athletes.
– He’s a guy who wants to win, he always pushes 100%, and sometimes he has to pull back, pat the younger ones on the head. In this he may have to improve – he added.
Finally, the attacker said that – if Ceni improves in this sense – ‘he has a great future both in Brazil and in Europe’.
– But he is still a young coach, he will improve and have a great career. He knows. He certainly has a future, perhaps in Europe or in the national team – he added.
