The feature film Radin, broadcast this Sunday evening on TF1, tells the story of a man very close to money. One fine day, his life, regulated only to spend nothing, is turned upside down: he falls in love and discovers that he has a daughter he never knew existed. Forced to lie to hide his terrible crime, this is the beginning of trouble for him. Because lies are sometimes expensive. Very expensive…
For this pretty unstoppable pitch comedy that hit theaters in 2016, Danny Boone had to learn something special from a pro. Learn how to spend as little as possible? To be a high-level “gripper”? No… for Radin, the actor didn’t spend time with a stingy specialist (which probably doesn’t exist!), but… with a violinist!
Because in Radin, François Gaultier, the character played by Danny Boon, is a violinist. And the actor had to learn to play this difficult instrument for the needs of the film. Thus, he was trained by Sara Nemtanu, the first violinist of the National Orchestra.
The pretense didn’t matter to Danny Boone, because Gauthier’s talent as a violinist is one thing that saves the character. “In life he behaves like a scumbag, but he has this gift of a virtuoso, even if his avarice probably prevented him from becoming a great artist.”– says the actor.
Real Life, Danny Boone’s brand new feature film in which he responds to Kad Merad and Charlotte Gainsbourg, just hit theaters.
