Tonight on TV: A movie that will surely make you cry

Every day AlloCiné recommends watching the movie (again) on TV. Tonight: A French family drama with a five-star cast.

The second feature film, directed by Remy Besanson, The first day of the rest of your life Is a particularly disturbing and nostalgic family mural in which each of us is likely to find ourselves. Through the relationship between parent and child, the film depicts the short-lived nature of existence, revealing emotions along with the trifles of everyday life.

Its originality lies in its narrative bias: if the story of the duel lasts more than 12 years, the story focuses on five crucial days, each of which is related to one of the family members. From a couple of parents brilliantly interpreted by Jacques Gamblin and Zabu Brightman to their three children, played by Pio Marmay, Marc-Andre Grondini and Deborah François. Thus, Remy Besanson signs a moving chronicle backed by rich soundtrack lyrics (David Bowie, Indochini, Lou Reed, and Etienne Daho in recent subtitles).
