Grey’s Anatomy on TF1: Lucas, Simone, Blue… Who are the new characters of Season 19?

Season 19 of Grey’s Anatomy will mark the arrival of a new group of interns at Gray Sloan Memorial, which will challenge Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Miranda (Chandra Wilson), Weber (James Pickens Jr.) and others.

The first episode, which airs this Wednesday 26 April at 21:10 on TF1, follows the first day of five ambitious new trainees with only one goal: to learn from the best.

To portray these newbies with an insatiable thirst for knowledge and disproportionate ambition, ABC has tapped five young actors whose faces are probably familiar to you. From Glee to Inventing Anna to Reign and Dash & Lily, where have you seen the new Grey’s Anatomy action?

Harry Shum Jr., Daniel “Blue” Kwan

Fans of the series will probably recognize the actor who has appeared in many series over the years. It was thanks to the role of Mike Chang in Glee that Harry Schum Jr. became known to the general public. After the series ended in 2015, he joined the cast of Shadowhunters, in which he played Magnus.

More recently, he appeared in the movie Crazy Rich Asians and he starred in Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan’s The Event, Everything Everywhere At Once, which won the Oscar for Best Picture this year.

In season 19 of Grey’s Anatomy, Harry Schum Jr. plays Daniel “Blue” Kwan, a young man described as smart, impulsive and brilliant. He is very competitive, talented by nature and used to winning in everything. However, a family crisis derailed his career plans and now he has a lot to prove by joining Gray Sloan Memorial.

Adelaide Kane, aka Jules Millin

After playing Derek’s (Tyler Hoechlin) sister Cora Hale in Teen Wolf Season 3, Adelaide Kane rose to fame when she was cast as Mary Stewart, Queen of Scots in Reign.

Since the series ended, the actor has appeared in several episodes of SEAL Team Season 3, as well as in the episode This Is Us. His arrival on Grey’s Anatomy thus allows him to return to the front of the stage.

Her character, Jules Millin, is an ambitious young woman who had to learn very early to ignore herself, her parents, drug addict artists, often. He’s not afraid to break the rules to save his life, which can sometimes get him into trouble.

Alexis Floyd aka Simone Griffin

Alexis Floyd is no stranger to Shonda Rhimes’ world. If the young woman began her career in season 3 of The Bold Type, where she played the role of Katie’s girlfriend (Aisha Dee) in several episodes, she reinvented herself in one of the designer’s Netflix series, Inventing Anna. He played Neff, a fictionalized version of Nefatari Davis, a concierge at New York’s 11 Howard Hotel who befriends notorious con artist Anna Delvey.

In the 19th season of Grey’s Anatomy, Alexis Floyd lends her features to Simone Griffin, a first-year surgical resident who joins Gray Sloane’s ranks. Described as funny, intelligent and very talented in his profession, this newcomer has a difficult family situation that can affect his work. He will also become very close to another intern very quickly. But nothing on Grey’s Anatomy is simple…

Midori Francis aka Mika Yasuda

Midori Francis, seen in Dash & Lily and The Sex Lives of College Girls, plays Mika Yasuda, a young resident from a large family who is often neglected and underappreciated. Burdened with student loan debt, he is confident that he will succeed in the program and achieve great heights. He finds an ally in a surprising former resident.

Nico Terho, aka Lucas Adams

Nico Terho began his career in The Thing about Harry, an American TV movie in which he plays the role of … Jake Borrell, who is none other than Dr. Levi Schmitt in Grey’s Anatomy. Considered the promotion’s weak link, his character, Lucas Adams, comes from a long line of surgeons. Therefore, he will have to prove himself to more demanding teachers.
