Driver flips car after collision with train in Brasilia

A 57-year-old driver overturned his vehicle after colliding with a train in Brasilia (DF). She was rescued by firefighters with minor injuries. According to the authority, the request was answered at 13:39 last Sunday, 30.

The accident occurred at a level crossing, in the direction of Avenida do Contorno towards Guará Park, the lane that gives access to the EPTG, in Guará II.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle, and witnessed the arrival of the train, making the obligatory stop at the railway crossing. However, she was unable to brake in time to avoid a collision. The locomotive hit the car and caused the vehicle to roll over, coming to a stop with its wheels in the air.



Firefighters responded to the incident

The Federal District Military Fire Department (CBMDF) responded to the incident with two vehicles and eight military firefighters. The woman exited the car on her own and was conscious, oriented, and stable. According to firefighters, she had minor abrasions on her left leg and therefore she did not need to be taken to a medical unit.

The driver was unharmed and the Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF) also intervened on the spot to record the incident.
