The Italian will be awarded the David Speciale on May 10th

The screenwriter Enrico Vanzina will be awarded this year at the David di Donatello, considered the “Oscar” of Italian cinema.

The 74-year-old producer, brother of director Carlo Vanzina (1951-2018) and son of director Steno (1917-1988), will win the David Speciale, an award that celebrates the award-winning career.

Vanzina will receive the honor on May 10 during the awards ceremony of the event.

The director is known nationally for producing blockbuster hits such as Horse Fever (1976), Christmas Vacation (1983) and Taste of the Sea (1983).

“The Enrico Vanzina award celebrates a multifaceted author and is an affectionate tribute to an artistic family of great producers of Italian comedy, inventors of a genre that has become part of our DNA”, communicated the organization of the David di Donatello.

In addition to Vanzina, the actresses Isabella Rossellini and Marina Cicogna will also receive the David Speciale 2023.
