This is exactly what happened (and something else) to young Jann Mardenborough, a Gran Turismo Enthusiast turned racing expert, who took to the track and became a professional driver, and the subject of the new action-packed film of the same name, the trailer for which was released today. Archie Madekwe plays the talented teenager Jann, whose incredible gaming skills have led him to enter the GT Academy and win several Nissan car competitions. David Harbor appears to be in a great fatherly position as a coach, Orlando Bloom is the PR man who sees the potential in Jann and Djimon Hounsou and Geri Horner play his parents. district 9 director Neill Blomkamp is behind the camera and the screenplay was written by Jason Hall and Zach Ballin. The trailer promises high-octane racing and plenty of frantic racing scenes, like Blomkamp did when he spoke to Empire for our latest issue, now on sale. Fasten your seat belts, boys.
