“Ode to life, cry for terrorists”: after November and Revoir Paris, discover in the cinema a new film about the attacks by Noemi Merlant.

What is it about?

On the evening of November 13, 2015, Ramon and Celine, a young couple, attend a concert at the Bataclan. They survive the terrorist attack, but cannot return to their normal lives.

While Celine desperately tries to forget this nightmarish night, Ramon tirelessly replays the events in his head, as if finding meaning in the horror. However, now they had to face the same question: how to overcome the ordeal and go through life together again?

Eight years after the attacks of November 13, 2015, cinema continues to explore the subject through a book adaptation: Peace, love and death metal By Ramon Gonzalez of Spain.

One Year, One Night is directed by Spanish director Isaac Lacuesta, and stars Noemi Merlanti (Portrait of an Innocent Girl on Fire) and Nauel Pérez Biscayart (Goodbye There, 120 BPM).

This autobiographical account tells of the aftermath of an attack on the lives of a couple who were at the Bataclan on the night of the tragedy. The heart of the book, and therefore of today’s film, is the show of this couple’s attempt to overcome what they have gone through to find a normal life.

How to recover when a person is not physically injured, but psychologically affected? how to recover How to deal with the consequences? The film also shows how this kind of drama can affect and affect a couple in the most different ways.

An exploration of trauma, identity, love, bereavement

As the director explains in the press kit, the characters of Noemi Merlanti and Nauel Pérez Biscayart.develops in two different but simultaneous space-times“.

A special mention to the two main actors of the film, Noemi Merlant and Nauel Pérez Biscayart. The latter will soon star Erwan Le Duc in Father’s Daughter, a film selected to close the Cannes Critics’ Week.
