Since launching in 2016, fans of This is Us have decided: Never start an episode without a bundle of fabrics nearby. Rare are the series that so touched the hearts of viewers, many of whom regularly performed episodes of the show created by Dan Fogelman with foggy or even straight puffy eyes!
To celebrate the end of one of the most popular series of recent years, the 6th season of which is available on MyCanal, immerse yourself in the 12 unforgettable moments of Pearson’s life, which left us comforted …
The Loss of a Third Child and the Adoption of Randall (Season 1, Episode 1)
This is us from the first episode started the emotional attraction that set the tone for the rest of the series. With pregnant triplets, Rebecca (Mandy Moore) loses one of her babies during childbirth, which Dr. K. (Gerald McCaren) tells Jack (Milo Ventimilia) in a very exciting scene where we first hear the metaphor of lemonade. Which will continue throughout the show. This horrific loss will still lead the Pearsons to pick up little Randall, in front of an abandoned barracks, and in the same incubator as Kate and Kevin at the hospital that day.
Randall’s Crack (Season 1, Episode 15)

At work and the illness of his biological father, the stressful Randall (Sterling K. Brown) completely collapses and bursts into tears in his office, where Kevin (Justin Hartley) rushes to calm his brother down. An emotionally charged scene, especially because often egocentric Kevin notices distress in Randall’s voice on the phone and decides to leave a preview of his play on Broadway to come and support his brother, who then runs all over his shoulder. A scene we are not going to forget.
Death of William (Season 1, Episode 16)

We knew from the start that he had terminal cancer, but the death of William, Randall’s biological father, is no less heartbreaking. The latter breathes a sigh of relief at the end of an episode full of life’s masterful performances by a character skillfully performed by Ron Ceffa Jones, right after his son first called him “Father”. ᲒUnusual.
Kevin’s Crisis (Season 2, Episode 8)

One of the most dramatic moments in the series revolves around Kevin, who, before his addiction peaks, talks one night with a former classmate whose home he forgets about the pendant given to him by his father in the evening. The trauma that changed the course of his life. When a young woman refuses to return the jewelry, Kevin collapses on his lawn, completely broken. A scene before which it is impossible to remain unchanged.
Kate Spontaneous Abortion (Season 2, Episode 9)

When the abortion-oriented episode around Katie (Chris Matts) begins, viewers already know she will lose a baby, so it’s all the more painful for a young woman and Toby (Chris Sullivan) to happily prepare for the arrival of a newborn. Watching their grief in so many different ways is heartbreaking.
The Deja vu (Season 2, Episode 10)

After episodes centered on Kevin and then Kate, “Number Three” attacks Randall and again there offers a particularly sad sequence: the one where Betty (Susan Kelech Watson) and her husband say goodbye to Deja (Lyric Ross), a young girl. Met them in the family, returning to live with their biological mother.
Therapy Session (Season 2, Episode 11)

While he is in the midst of rehab, Kevin takes his brother, sister, and mother to a family therapy session, which is ruined when everyone finally pours out the grief stored for years. A memorable moment of tension that ends with reconciling on the bench of the Big Three.
The Death of Jack (Season 2, Episode 14)

This is simply the most heartbreaking moment in the entire series: Jack’s sudden death, off screen, in a hospital with a heart attack after surviving a family home fire but breathing too much smoke. If viewers knew this fateful day was coming, it was undoubtedly hard for them to hold back the tears when Rebecca heard the story after she left her husband’s room alive to go and buy a bar of chocolate.
Nick’s Tragic Story (Season 3, Episode 11)

Before viewers, like the Pearsons, thought that Jack’s little brother had died during the Vietnam War, in Season 3 we learn that this is not the case. When the unfortunate reason for the “separation” between two brothers is revealed, we can not help but be devastated by the horrible accident of the distant siblings, especially knowing that Jackie will never learn the truth about him. Another highlight of the episode: When Kevin, Katie and Randall meet their uncle, played by Griffin Dunn, and are told that his brother has been dead for years.
The End of Miguel’s Life (Season 6, Episode 15)

Presented in the series, in the past as Jack’s best friend and present as Rebecca’s new husband, Miguel (John Huertas) often maintained a low profile. But the episode that the last season dedicated to him, from childhood to death, was terribly exciting. Wonderful goodbye to a beautiful character!
Farewell to Rebecca (Season 6, Episode 17)

Rebecca will have a full life consisting of moments of pure happiness and immense drama. Still, fans will long remember seeing the last farewell gathering of all his family members, where everyone comes out to their room to say goodbye. Especially thanks to the subtle staging, where young Rebecca is shown on a train, where she is visited by all her relatives, led by the very philosophical William.
Rebecca’s Burial (Season 6, Episode 18)

We could not have completed this list if we had not mentioned this we are the last episode focused on Rebecca’s funeral. Whether it’s a conversation between Randall and Betty, or on the day of Kate and Toby’s funeral, if the last scenes between the series’s star couple in later life, it’s hard to hold back tears. But perhaps the most exciting sequence is when the Big Three share their wishes for the future and remember their wonderful parents and the little baby rhythm that Jack taught them as children …
