What would Bridgerton’s world be without his incredible costumes? The prequel to Queen Charlotte continues the tradition with equally opulent productions. Two designers worked on the costumes for this series: Lynne Paolo and Laura Frecon, two regulars on the Hollywood set.
Wearing an English Regency costume on set can be a real challenge for actors. “When you wear these extremely beautiful and delicate outfits, you can’t moveexplains Arsema Thomas, who plays the younger version of Lady Danbury. The seats we had were not standard seats.”
He continues: “It had to be a chair because our dresses didn’t even fit. We couldn’t even go into the bathrooms because our robes were too baggy. It takes two people and almost 30 minutes to get in and out of the suit, so it’s easier to stay in..”
India Amarteifio, who plays the young Queen Charlotte, reveals that she had fans and ice packs around to keep the air cool. “At lunch I undressed completely and rested to digest.“

Much loved by Bridgerton fans, Golda Rochewell returns in the prequel to play the title role in scenes set in the “present.” Prior to The Bridgerton Chronicle, the Guyanese-born actress notably appeared in the film Young Lady Florence Pugh or the Luther series.
