The coronation of the king began at 7 o’clock this Saturday (6) Charles III. At 74, Charles is the 40th king crowned at Westminster Abbey since 1066.
In the first phase of the ceremony, the Charles III Award was presented to those present by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The congregation sang “God Save King Charles” (“God save King Charles”, in Portuguese).
Already in the Chair of State, Charles took the coronation oath, pledging to uphold the law and the Church of England, and the oath of declaration of accession, declaring himself a “staunch Protestant”
