The game
Right at the start of the game, Milan got scared when Rafael Leão felt his leg after a tackle with goalkeeper Ivan Provedel and had to be substituted. Despite the concern for their star player, Milan played a strong first half and opened the scoring in the 17th minute through Ismaël Bennacer after Lazio’s mistake in the ball and Giroud’s assist. Shortly afterwards, in the 29th minute, Theo Hernández increased the scoring with a great goal into the left corner of the opponent’s goal.
In the final phase, the match cooled down, but Milan continued to be superior and did not concede any chances to an unrecognizable Lazio who did not endanger the opponent’s goal. Rebić also scored the home side’s third goal, but the move was disallowed for offside.
