James Gunn will remain faithful to his entourage of actors and actresses in his move from Marvel to DC, and Superman will have a new ally.
That James Gunn likes to surround himself with good friends in his projects and that several of the actors and actresses who appear in his films have repeated with him several times is not something that surprises anyone. With his new movie at Marvel, he has shown it again, taking several DC actors for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 ‘as the villain of the tape, Chukwudi Iwuji, or his own wife Jennifer Holland. Now, In his new adventure as head honcho of the restructuring of the DC universe, Gunn himself has confirmed that he will continue with his custom.
Always active on Twitter, the director of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3′ responded to fans’ doubts and questions with “yes” or “no”, revealing several details of the film that will inaugurate the new phases of DC, ‘Superman: Legacy’which is written and directed by Gunn himself.
The most significant is that the filmmaker has confirmed that “there are plans for one of the Guardians to be in an upcoming DC movie“, and we already have two candidates in mind…

We can bet an arm that James’ brother, Sean Gunn, who plays Kraglin in Marvel’s MCU, will be in ‘Superman: Legacy’. Whether it’s showing his face or doing motion capture for a CGI character, Sean can’t be missing.
Perhaps your job is to monitor the movements of Krypto, Superman’s dog, which has also been confirmed by James Gunn after appearing in the animated film ‘DC League of Super Pets’. Will it be canon within the new DC universe?
Another one that sounds strong is dave bautista, which already left a “hidden” nod to Gunn in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3’ before saying goodbye to the franchise, and for which Gunn had already booked a role in ‘The Suicide Squad’, although in the end it couldn’t be given due to the actor’s scheduling problems.
Given the criticism of some fans because Gunn always repeats with the same actors, the director has defended himself (also through Twitter) clarifying that “Reusing actors I know and trust doesn’t mean you’re not hiring lots of new and unknown actors on every project.. It’s not one or the other.”

‘Superman: Legacy’, the first of the new films announced by James Gunn for DC, has a release date scheduled for 2025, and the writers’ strike does not seem to affect production since James Gunn says the script was ready several days before the protests began.
