Pedro Pascal will star in the new film by the horror director in fashion in Hollywood after ‘The Last of Us 2’ and ‘Gladiator 2’

Hollywood news is monopolized by two names: Jenna Ortega and Pedro Pascal. It seems that a new project is not announced without one of the two being involved in its cast. While today we confirmed that Jenna Ortega will definitely be in ‘Bitelchús 2’again under the orders of Tim Burton after the Netflix series ‘Wednesday’, THR has exclusively announced the new film by Pedro Pascal and the director of ‘Barbarian’one of the best recent horror movies.

‘Weapons’ will be a horror epic with several intertwined stories in the vein of films like ‘Magnolia’, Paul Thomas Anderson’s masterpiece, although no further details about its plot or the role of Pedro Pascal’s character have been revealed at the moment. The film will be directed by Zach Cregger, responsible for one of last year’s surprises: ‘Barbarian’the horror film that came to Disney+ after passing through the Sitges Festival.

As THR reports, ‘Weapons’ was the subject of an intense bidding war in January, when Hollywood studios and streaming platforms fought over the chance to work with Cregger. New Line ultimately won the auction, making a deal rarely seen in modern times that includes, among other clauses, a guaranteed theatrical release and the decision of the final cut for the director as long as the test passes are satisfactory.

Pedro Pascal will have to make room in his busy schedule before putting himself under Cregger’s orders in ‘Weapons’. At the end of this month, The Chilean actor will step on the red carpet on the Croisette at the Cannes Film Festival to present, together with Ethan Hawke, the gay western by Pedro Almodóvar ‘Strange way of life’and later the filming of season 2 of ‘The Last of Us’ will begin, which with its first season has already become one of the best series on HBO Max.

Pascal will also be in the cast of the highly anticipated ‘Gladiator 2’the continuation of Ridley Scott’s classic peplum with Russell Crowe (‘The Pope’s Exorcist’) and Joaquin Phoenix (‘Joker 2: Folie à Deux’).
