The expert shows how sales strategies are essential in the third digital age to increase profitability
Sales of info products, online courses, mentoring and digital services are constantly expanding and this growth was even greater during the Covid-19 pandemic, when people could not hit the streets and started to see the possibility to specialize and acquire new skills through the Internet.
However, when entering the digital market, you need to have strategies with techniques and actions to find and retain customers. Therefore, it is necessary to create a relationship of trust with the consumer, understand who the target audience is, create personalized and targeted actions, use mental triggers to satisfy needs and desires and maintain the relationship with the customer after the sale.
Entrepreneur Alisson Casagrande says digital entrepreneurship in Brazil, in general, can be divided into three eras: before the Covid-19 pandemic, during the pandemic and this post-pandemic period. “In the first era, businesses, companies, entrepreneurs showed their products through radio, television. Some were already on the Internet trying to show their products, their services, but there was not much sales volume” , he said, noting that the consumer was still afraid to buy online.
According to Casagrande, when the pandemic hit, some businesses shut down, others went bankrupt, and others turned into digital businesses. “Digital educators and teachers, influencers and content producers started showing why people should buy and what benefits and transformations the customer would have in buying that product or service. This digital business has greatly accelerated,” she says.
But the present moment, for him, presents a completely different scenario. “Today, in the digital world, communication must be clear and objective, with good tools and good direct offer strategies to sell our products and services,” he says.
The sales specialist explains that digital entrepreneurship has grown and with it has increased the level of sophistication of its audience. Today it is essential to use a product presentation that solves a problem or a desire of the target audience.
For Casagrande, this forecast of an increase in the digital market in the coming years is due to the emergence of new types of work and should be reflected in the emergence of new online courses and tutoring for these new jobs.
The fact is that, between 2011 and 2021, the number of students taking university higher education courses, in the form of distance learning (EaD), increased by 474%, according to the Higher Education Census 2021published by the National Institute of Studies and Research on Education (Inep) and the Ministry of Education (MEC) Anísio Teixeira.
In 2020, to get an idea of this trend, of the more than 3.7 million people entering public and private institutions, more than 2 million (53.4%) opted for the remote mode and 1.7 million (46.6%), in person, as per published by Agência Brasil.
According to Inep, the expansion of EaD is evident in the relationship between enrollment and teaching methods: in 2021 there were over 3.7 million enrolled in distance learning courses (equal to 41.4% of the total). In the historical series highlighted by the survey (from 2011 to 2021), the percentage of students enrolled in EaD increased by 274.3%, while, in face-to-face lessons, there was a drop of 8.3%.
“Anyone who has a skill and wants to share their knowledge with other people has the potential to do very well,” he says.
