‘Rocky’ and ‘Aquaman’ actor recovers from cancer: ‘They gave me 2 or 3 years to live’

Actor Dolph Lundgren recently revealed that he was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2015 and has undergone multiple treatments since then. Known for roles in action franchises like ‘Rocky’, ‘Aquaman’ and ‘The Expendables’, he stepped up to treatment in 2020 when he discovered the disease had spread to other parts of his body.

What the actor said about cancer

Worsening of Lundgren’s condition

According to Lundgren, the new tumors could not be treated surgically. She had to start chemo.

In 2021, when he was filming ‘Aquaman 2’ and ‘The Expendables 4’ in London, the disease had already spread to his stomach, lungs and spine.

The doctor told me, “You should take time off work and spend more time with your family.” So I asked him, ‘How much time do you think I have left?’ He said two or three years, but I heard in his voice that he thought it was even less.

second opinion

After realizing the condition had worsened, Dolph Lundgren sought a second medical opinion.

This may have saved his life: the new doctor proposed a cure that took effect quickly and shrank the actor’s tumors. He told the channel that he spent the year 2022 “basically watching the meds kick in.”

Things have improved: the tumors have shrunk by 90% and Lundgren is removing what is left of them. According to him, “the expectation is, after this, I’ll be cancer-free.”
