‘Fast & Furious 10’ already has first reactions and they all highlight Jason Momoa’s amazing villain: “the Joker of the saga”

It seems that Jason Momoa has received all the praise from the beginning of the farewell to the saga, and it is that a movie is better the better its villain is.

‘Fast & Furious 10’ or ‘Fast X’ arrives in Spanish theaters next Friday, May 19, at the same time as its world premiere. However, there have already been some lucky ones who have been able to see the film and share their first reactions to it before the rest of the mortal fans of “the family”.

The new film takes us back to Dom (Vin Diesel) and his family, in danger from a threat related to his past: Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa), the son of the villain of ‘Fast & Furious 5’ (the movie that changed the saga forever), HernĂ¡n Reyes, who has spent the last 12 years planning his revenge.

Let’s remember that this is the beginning, in several parts, of what will be the end of the franchise. It is, after all, the beginning of the end of a mythical saga. Eric Eisenberg of CinemaBlend wrote.

Fast X kick-starts the Fast & Furious series, and the number 1 reason is Jason Momoa, who plays Dante as the saga’s version of the Joker. He’s a cheerful psycho, and he’s charming. Paired with a story that avoids what made Fate Of The Furious and F9 feel stale, it’s a win.

We also have ComicBook’s Liam Crowley continuing to praise Momoa:

‘FastX’ is absolutely ridiculous (I loved every second of it). The action sequences and one-liners made my face ache from smiling so much. Momoa is hilarious. The set is cool. At the cinema? Of course. The blockbuster of the summer? Hell yeah. Created for a popcorn-filled, big-screen experience.

More extensive, although in the same vein, was Kristen Acuna, from Insider:

I watched #FastX last week! It’s a thrill ride of wild, non-stop action that delivers the most shocking finale to the franchise yet. It’s not perfect (the ending may divide fans), but it’s grown on me and I can’t wait to see it again. Universal definitely trying to make this their Infinity War.

Extremely unpredictable, Dante feels like the Thanos of the Fast franchise (love of purple included). Jason Momoa seems to have had a lot of fun doing this. One of the best villains in the franchise.

As for how it compares to the rest of the saga? I need another viewing to solidify where I would place it. I think it may be right in the middle of the franchise or a little higher in my ranking. The original, ‘Fast 5 and 7’ are even better.

Few surprises. I definitely have some quibbles and fans may feel like they get 3/4 of a movie, but I had fun watching this like I do all Fast movies. Looking forward to seeing her again. PS: my session did not project the final post credits scene.

Far less enthusiastic was Gizmondo’s Germain Lussier, who called it the worst film in the series. Of course, Momoa seems to resist everything.

#FastX is the worst Fast to date. Yes, including (insert your least favorite here). The action is fun, but it’s the first movie not to up the ante from the last and the trademark notion of “Family” is an afterthought.

But! Jason Momoa is on God level and well worth the price of admission.

‘Fast X’ opens on May 19 in theaters.
