The actors who could live Harry Potter after Daniel Radcliffe, according to himself

The witcher’s original interpreter in the film saga already anticipated that the work would receive a reboot on screen at some point

As already announced, the saga Harry Potter will get a reboot. This time, not as a movie, but in a series format, through the Max streaming platform (which will replace HBO Max).

There is still no premiere date, but it is known that the series will adapt each of the books in one season. And, of course, we’ll have a whole new cast. That is: nothing Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and so on.

Even before this plan was announced, Radcliffe revealed his thoughts on a then-possible reboot. He even indicated which actors could live the character that made him world famous in his childhood.

The subject was addressed half seriously, half comically, in a 2016 interview with Her (via Cheat Sheet). One of the names mentioned was for real: Jamie Parker, 43-year-old actor known for having given life to Harry Potter in the adaptation of the story for the theater, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. He even received the Laurence Olivier and WhatsOnStage awards for his work, in addition to a Tony nomination.

The suggestion as a joke was elijah woodthe eternal Frodo Baggins in Lord of the Rings. When justifying the option, Daniel stated:

“I feel that elijah wood is mistaken for me so many times that he might as well try to play that part.”

Daniel Radcliffe on Harry Potter Reboots

During another interview, this time IGNin 2019, Daniel Radcliffe expressed his opinion on the possibility – now materialized – of a reboot of the Harry Potter saga on screens. At the time, it is worth remembering, there was no information that could indicate a plan in this direction.

Even so, the artist was not at all closed to this possibility. While he rules out getting involved in acting, he has stated that he would be quite excited to watch.

“I’m sure there will be some other version of this. I know I’m not the last Harry Potter I’ll see in my life – we already have a few more.”

Curiosity would revolve around, of course, how the new work would fare. Also, Daniel would like to know how long it would take for Harry Potter to be readapted – which has only happened now, as it turns out.

“It will be interesting to see how long these films last… there seems to be a sacredness around them at the moment, but that will pass, the glow will wear off at some point. It will be interesting if they reboot, creating new films, or a series. I would be fascinated to watch.”

No returning to acting in the saga

As Daniel Radcliffe has made clear in numerous interviews, there are no plans on his part to return to playing Harry Potter himself. However, during an interview with Entertainment Weeklyhe amused himself by imagining what other character could do.

“I think Lupine and Sirius Black are incredibly cool characters, although I have to admit: it’s also because I’m probably a little biased because I love both actors. [David Thewlis e Gary Oldman] who interpreted them. But yeah, I would probably pick one of those two.”
