There are still many questions to be answered in the Mushroom Kingdom
‘Super Mario Bros: The Movie’ has been a successconfirming the positive trend of videogame adaptations on film and television, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of 2023. It has references to all the games in the saga, old and new, and, this time, a story that has a lot to do with it. more sense than the version of ‘Super Mario Bros’ from 1993, while brothers Mario (Chris Pratt) and Luigi (Charlie Day) jump from galaxy to galaxy together with Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy). and Toad (Keegan-Michael Key) on an adventure to defeat the supervillain Bowser (Jack Black).
However, although everything seems simple enough, still there are many questions to be solved in the Mushroom Kingdom.
What happens at the end of ‘Super Mario Bros: The Movie’?
For context, let’s revisit the story, so watch out for the spoilers!
Everything starts when Bowser gets his hands on the Super Star, making him the most powerful being in all the galaxies. and, in his mind, the ideal candidate to woo Princess Peach (Remember Jack Black’s song in ‘Super Mario Bros: The Movie’). Meanwhile, in Brooklyn, Mario brothers plumbers they are trying to repair a fault that threatens to flood the entire neighborhood. They venture into the sewers and They find a mysterious green pipe that sucks them into a nexus between many different galaxies..
When Mario arrives in the Mushroom Kingdom, Toad takes him to see a worried Princess Peach, who fears that the King of the Koopas is now setting his sights on the Mushroom Kingdom. She explains to our hero that there are many galaxies and that Bowser is a threat to all of them. She also reveals that she doesn’t know where she came from, only that she came to the Mushroom Kingdom when she was a little girl and was taken in by the Toads, who eventually made her their Princess.
An hour or so later, a little bit before we get to the end of the movie, things have gone so wrong that Peach reluctantly agrees to marry Bowser to prevent him from torturing Toad.. The villain also reveals that he will sacrifice all those who were captured in his honor. However, the Princess still has some powers up her sleeve and manages to stop the entire ceremony, just in time for Mario and Donkey Kong arrive and rescue everyone. Frustrated, Bowser sends out “Bullet Bill” to destroy the Mushroom Kingdom, but Mario manages to deflect it into the green pipe that got him there in the first place.
The result is a massive explosion that throws everyone back to Brooklyn and rips open the portals between all the galaxies. The Mario brothers (because that’s his last name, right?) join forces to save New York and the rest of the universes by trapping the Super Star themselves, becoming invulnerable. They defeat Bowser and Peach imprisons Bowser after miniaturizing him.
The film ends with the Mario brothers embarking on a new adventure in the Mushroom Kingdom, Bowser imprisoned in a small cage and a post-credits scene from ‘Super Mario Bros: The Movie’ with a mystery egg hatching in the sewers of new york that we explain to you by clicking on the link of this phrase.
But there are still several unanswered questions:
‘Super Mario Bros: The Movie’: Where is Princess Peach from?
One of the biggest mysteries that remain unanswered is where does peach really come from. Everyone who has ever played the games has wondered at one point or another: how come the only human in the Mushroom Kingdom rules over the Toads? Well, the answer that ‘Super Mario Bros: The Movie’ gives us seems logical: Peach is from the same world as Mario..
It turns out that Peach, like Mario, is not from the Mushroom Kingdom. Absolutely. She explains to Mario that she ended up there by accident when she was still a baby, and was taken in and crowned Princess of the Toads.. The “official” answer was left for future sequels, but it’s safe to assume it’s from the universe that Mario and Luigi came from.
