Maria Clara Spinelli has been confirmed in the remake of “Elas por Elas”, one of the upcoming soap operas of Tv Globo. In the serial, the actress will live the first trans protagonist and show her gender transition.
The artist was to play Renê, a trans woman who becomes Renée after 25 years in a male body. “I didn’t become a woman. I was born a woman,” she will say.
The plot features seven women aged between 40 and 50, with very different profiles, who meet again after a long time apart. The new version will be set in Rio de Janeiro and promises more novels.
Still in the casting phase, the remake of “Elas por Elas” has confirmed the return of Cassio Gabus Mendes (“Vale Tudo”) for the role of the villain Otávio. The announcement was quite celebrated, as it was in the 1982 soap opera, written by his father Cassiano Gabus Mendes, that the actor solidified his career.
“Elas por Elas” is written by Thereza Falcão and Alessandro Marson, both responsible for “Nos Tempos do Imperador”. Additionally, the serial will have art direction from Amora Mautner (“Vamp”).
The soap opera is scheduled for the second half of this year, following “Perfect Love”.
