After interpreting jake sully in the franchise avatar (2008), Sam Worthington is one of the highest paid actors in the film industry, but his performance has not always been highlighted. Recently, the actor recalled the criticism for his performance in the remake of Wrath of the Titans (2010) and behind-the-scenes conflicts.
For theFandomWirethe actor cited the clashes between him and the director of the film, Jonathan Liebesman, about the character. In production, worthington played the character of Perseusa fisherman who goes in search of Medusa’s head after discovering that he is the son of Zeus.
In Wrath of the Titans (two), Perseus is introduced as a single father of Helios (JohnBell). With fatherhood, the actor wanted to make some changes to his appearance. Perseus and decided to develop a “father’s body”, considering that his character would no longer want his role as a god and would hardly care about his appearance – but this was not what the producers thought.
Of course, that’s the antithesis of what a studio wants when it pays X amount of dollars to make a movie about a chiseled hero. My arrogance clashed with the studio and the director’s vision, and it turned into a horrible fight.
