The situation is very delicate at Internacional after four consecutive defeats in the 2023 season. The fans lost patience and staged a protest this Thursday when the team arrived at Salgado Filho airport, one day after the 2-0 defeat against América-MG, in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil.
Initially, the fans promoted several shouts at players and board members, mainly the president Alessandro Barcellos. The team has also been described as “shameless” and warned that “to play in Beira-Rio you need the match”.

However, according to the recordings on social networks by Bruno Abichéquer, of Radio Gre-Nal, the situation got out of control. Police officers were forced to use rubber bullets and pepper spray against Colorado fans.
Internacional will have a fiery duel over the weekend to seek recovery: they will face rival Grêmio, away from home, on Sunday, at 18:30, for the Brasileirão 2023.
