Less than one episode after the broadcast of season 3, which gathered 5.1 million viewers last autumn, Criminal Tropics, thanks to this undisputed success, is back for a fourth season this Friday, May 19, at 21:10 on France 2. Stands out as the best series since its inception.
As this fourth new batch begins, of which France 2 broadcasts the first two episodes tonight, Melissa Saint-Rose (Sonia Rolland) and Gael Crivelli (BĂ©atrice de la Boulay) are desperately alone. Cyril (Stany Coppet), the policeman with whom Melissa shared a kiss at the end of Season 3, and Frank (Arieh Elmaleh), St. Rose’s ex-turned-Crivelli lover, are back in France.
But against all odds, an investigation at the equestrian center leads Melissa to find Cyril, who has secretly returned to Martinique for an infiltration mission. It doesn’t take much for those two lovers to fall back into each other’s arms. But the re-entry into his life of his ex-wife Melissa de Pascal (Joffrey Platel), recently released from prison, could turn everything upside down.
Season 4 isn’t easy for Gael Crivelli either, as the police captain sees Thais (Tia Deslauriers), a petite 15-year-old thief come into his life, whom he takes under his wing and brings home. The beginning of a strange coexistence for Gael, who will have to learn a little authority and responsibility towards the teenager.
A very successful new season at all levels
Just like its ultra-delicious first series, in which Crivelli and St. Rose drunkenly share their love troubles while swimming half-naked in the paradise waters of Martinique, this new season of Criminal Tropics manages to create its increasingly attractive heroines.
By delving into the family and intimate stories of each. But also and above all the connection that unites them. Because if Melissa and Gael haven’t gotten past the formality stage and aren’t strictly friends, they’ve never been that close. And they even start touching each other.
Between Gaele, who finds herself with a teenager on her hands and almost becomes (we almost said) the voice of wisdom and reason. And Melissa, who reveals herself in a new, funnier and weirder light during the season’s double-opening episode.
Season 4 of Criminal Tropics, which again consists of eight episodes, simultaneously offers well-designed and quite original investigations that lead us to infiltrate an equestrian center, hunt for treasures, the world of MMA or on the trail. A serial killer who resurfaces twenty years after his last crime.
But also cases that closely affect the two heroines. Just as Chloe (Antoinette Gire), Melissa’s daughter, finds herself involved in a murder case. Or when Crivelli’s father is suspected of murdering his best friend.
Add to that a wonderful line-up of guests (Stephane Blancafort, Nicky Marbot, Oscar Cope, Muriel Combo, Geoffrey Platel, or even Dembo Camillo from Here It All Begins) and a shocking end to the season that promises to leave viewers speechless. You get a new round of must-watch episodes of Criminal Tropics. Sunnier and more efficient than ever.
