As it turns out, Amazon-owned Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) may already have a lead for its reboot of The Pink Panther: none other than Eddie Murphy, according to the expiration.
On the wave of nostalgia, the actor also recently reprized his role in A prince in New York 2 and announced that he has agreed to meet the cast of A heavy duty for a fourth sequence. More recently, he has been in Some people from Netflix, alongside Jonah Hill.
Famous for several blockbuster movies like A heavy duty (1984), The crazy professor (1996), Doctor Dolittle (1998) and Norbit: a comedy of weight (2007), Murphy is known as one of the most comedic, theatrical and entertaining comedians in Hollywood. At age 62, the actor has an extensive film and voice-over résumé, with most of the sequels winning.
Murphy’s impact on pop culture in the 80s and 90s was so undeniable that he helped establish an archetype in filmmaking, while also paving the way for other industry players like Chris Tucker, Will Smith, and Chris Rock.
The Pink Panther it has about 11 films, as well as numerous series and specials. The franchise tells the adventures of bumbling Inspector Jacques Clouseau and his attempts to discover who is The Phantom, a notorious thief who has long been planning to steal the coveted Pink Panther diamond.
