“I paid for a manicurist and a hairdresser,” says Michelle Bolsonaro of Cid

The former First Lady said, however, that her contact with Bolsonaro’s former assistant was only through her advisers.

Former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro has denied any ties to Mauro Cid, Jair Bolsonaro’s former aide, but admitted the military was responsible for paying for her personal expenses. The statements were released in an interview published this Friday 19 by the magazine I wait.

“Nobody [relação com Mauro Cid]. My contact with him was through my advisors. He paid my personal bills because he was the one with my husband’s bank account card. All the money the colonel used to pay my expenses was taken from Jair’s personal account, from his income as President of the Republic. He doesn’t have a penny of public resources. We have the excerpts to prove it,” he told the mag.

When asked why she hasn’t paid her bills, Michelle said she handled household expenses until she arrived at the Palácio da Alvorada, when her husband took over the presidency.

According to the former first lady, due to the number of events and the intense work demand they faced, she decided to put “everything into the spreadsheet” and let the aide-de-camp take care of paying the bills.

“Before Jair became president, I managed the accounts at our house. When we arrived in Alvorada, there was this figure to do this job. Paying the daily expenses. We had several events, a very large work demand, so we I left everything in the spreadsheet. I passed it to my consultant, who passed it to Cid, who had access to the personal file. He took out and paid the manicurist, or hairdresser, some money for the children’s snacks “, he has declared.

In another part of the interview, Michelle explained why she used a credit card linked to the account of Rosimary Cardoso Cordeiro, a parliamentary adviser to the Senate and her longtime friend.

“I have never been asked for an explanation. I have been using this card since 2011. I was broke. In 2007 I married Jair, I went to Rio de Janeiro. I have three brothers. My family is very simple and I have always taken care of my brothers. At the time, my credit card limit was 1,800 reais, because I had no way of proving the income. Then my friend offered an additional card to her account, which had a higher limit. I paid my share of the account. all receipts. These results destroy people’s reputations,” added the former first lady.

Cash deposits from Cid to Michelle

The PF intercepted conversations between the former aide and two of Michelle’s advisers, revealing that she made cash deposits into the former first lady’s account.

It is suspected that the CID has illegally used Palazzo Planalto’s public funds to make payments, through cash withdrawals and fractional payments in kind, with the aim of making it difficult to trace the amounts.
