The Little Mermaid gets an original soundtrack

the first of The little Mermaid is approaching and, in anticipation, Disney has released the official soundtrack on digital platforms.

The soundtrack is composed by Alan Meneken and Lin-Manuel Miranda, and features songs performed by Halle Bailey (Ariel), Melissa McCarthy (Ursula), Jonah Hauer-King (Prince Eric), Daveed Digs (Sebastião) and Awkwafina (Sabidão) . .

The composers of The little Mermaid

Alan Meneken is an American composer already famous for his soundtracks for Disney. He worked The beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), Hercules (1997) and The little Mermaid original from 1989.

Actor and producer Lin-Manuel Miranda, on the other hand, became known for his comedic roles, but has emerged as a composer and musician in works such as the award-winning Hamilton (2020), Tick, tick… Boom! (2021), Charm (2021) and In a New York neighborhood (2021).

Miranda also works The little Mermaidlike Chef Louis.

Besides them, Bailey is also a singer, known in the music world only as Halle, and performs original songs.
