In Jessica Radloff’s book titled The Big Bang Theory: The Ultimate, Inside Story of the Epic Hit SeriesProducers Steven Molaro and Steve Holland did indeed reveal that a more comedic tone was finally considered. An ending that featured the building’s famous broken elevator!

In the end, this version will not be preserved, a more nostalgic option is preferred, but we will still note that the famous elevator has been renovated, an event that we will discover earlier in the last episode.
