A report released by the site Deadline estimates that Top Gun: Maverick will reach $ 180 million in its world premiere, which equates to over R $ 851 million, an amount never before achieved by any of Tom Cruise’s films.
Topping the box office chart for the actor’s debut, 2017’s “The Mummy” grossed $ 172.3 million during its first weekend. This is considering the launches in Russia and China, key markets where the aerial combat film shouldn’t be shown.
In addition to Tom Cruise in the title role, the cast of Top Gun: Maverick includes names like Jennifer Connelly, Val Kilmer, Miles Teller, Monica Barbaro, Ed Harris and Lewis Pullman, and has Lady Gaga on the soundtrack.
