Stranger Things 4: Who is bothering Victor Creeley?

Warning, spoilers! This article will reveal the key elements of Stranger Things Season 4. If you have not seen the 1st part of the 4th season and you do not want to spoil it, do not read it!

This is the character that has raised the most questions since the release of the final trailer for Stranger Things Season 4. While we found the imaginary house and Vekna, more terrifying than the upside-down monsters of previous seasons, the insidious image of a mysterious old man named Victor Creeley was the most intriguing.

And for good reason! Victor Krill is no less a horror movie legend, namely Robert Englund! But first let’s get back to this annoying character, a prisoner at Penhurst Psychiatric Hospital.

In 1959, Krill and his family moved to a large, beautiful mansion in Hawkins, and soon a strange phenomenon began (such as flickering lights, hey hey). Very quickly, trouble does not take long to fall on the Kreyl. Victor’s wife and daughter face a horrific death, the victims of the same Vekna. And not surprisingly, Krill is now known to Hawkins as a psychopath who killed his family 20 years ago.

However, this is the son of Victor Creeley, who would later become one, the son of Dr. Brenner’s first guinea pig, who would later become the son-in-law who committed these heinous crimes. Of course, this was a poor man who had been convicted of murdering his family, declared insane, and sent to Penherst – where he opened his eyes in a desperate attempt to end his life.

Victor Creeley performs Robert Englund

Since then he has lived there as one of the most dangerous patients in the facility and is undergoing the same isolation treatment as Hannibal Lecter. Even if his character serves as the “pillar” of the season’s secret, he only appears in one episode (4th) because of the producer’s difficulties with the pandemic.

Thus, the krill is played by the legendary horror actor Robert Englund, best known for his role as the serial killer, Freddie Krueger, in Night Clutches. Freddie Krueger, the cult character the actor found in eight films! And throughout his career, he has continued to create nightmares as he portrays a variety of disturbing characters, from opera ghosts to 2001 maniacs.

In an interview IGNThe Daphne brothers (Matt and Ross) briefly touched on Victor Krill. They rated him as the “key” character of the season and revealed that not only was this season inspired by Nightclaws movies, but Robert Englund himself was approached about their participation in the series:

The fact that he contacted us during a season that was so deeply inspired by Freddie Krueger’s franchise and his performance, especially in these films, that sounded like fate, we said to ourselves, “Okay, it has to be done.”“- said Matt Daffer.

The co-founder also talked about the importance of Creel’s Haunted House. This house was one of the most teased in the fourth season promo, due to its connections to the story horror themes. Dapher explains that:

We have long wanted to do our homework. Every year we try to do something different. This is a more scary season. The children are in high school and it was natural for them to participate in a horror movie.

As for the Vecna, its appearance strongly resembles the appearance of Freddie Krueger. Again, this is not a coincidence, as the brothers Dafers explained a video Trailer Decryption:

We wanted to immediately introduce the idea that there is a new great danger. We always wanted to make our… any version… Freddie Krueger, or Pinhead, or Pennywise. Because it was the monsters … the villains … the supernatural villains that scared us the most when we were young.
