Actor Liam Neeson is back in the “Star Wars” saga as Qui-Gon Jinn in the upcoming Disney + series, “Tales of the Jedi”. The information was revealed during the Star Wars Celebration event.
“Tales of the Jedi” will be a six-episode animated anthology series, three of which will focus on Count Dooku, played in Christopher Lee’s live-action films. Liam Neeson’s character in “Star Wars”, Quin-Gon Jinn, was Dooku’s padawan.
Liam Neeson will voice his character, Qui-Gon, in an episode of the new Star Wars series, “Tales of the Jedi”. Additionally, Neeson’s son Micheál Richardson will join the cast, taking on the voice of the younger version of Qui-Gon Jinn. Neeson wasn’t back in Star Wars from “The Phantom Menace” until a vocal cameo appeared in “The Rise of Skywalker”.
Producer Dave Filoni commented on Neeson’s character to StarWars.com. “Qui-Gon is one of the best and, in some ways, the most interesting Jedi, due to his philosophy, which is different from the Jedi Council. And where did he learn it, if not from his mentor, Count Dooku? “
In addition to the three episodes focusing on Dooku, the other three will focus on Ahsoka Tano, and will start with her as a child. Janina Gavankar will voice Ahsoka’s mother and she also had previous involvement in Star Wars, voicing Iden Versio in Star Wars Battlefront 2.
It is also possible that the actor has a live appearance, or at least his voice, in the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series, as “Revenge of the Sith” ended with Master Yoda telling Obi-Wan he wanted. Gon had more training for him on Tatooine. The director of the series also said there will be guest appearances on the series.
“Tales of the Jedi” does not yet have a fixed date for the arrival on Disney +, but the forecast is that the premiere will take place between September and December of this year.
