The Witcher on Netflix: Season 5 already confirmed?

If The Witcher season 3 doesn’t hit Netflix until June 29, the streaming giant is already preparing a sequel without Henry Cavill. To remind you, on December 15, 2022, the platform announces the shocking and rather obscure departure of the flagship actor of the series. Season 3 marks his final appearance as Geralt de Rive.

Instead, the production chooses a rather different profile, Liam Hemsworth, the brother of Chris Hemsworth, who appeared in the Hunger Games franchise, among other things. In an interview with the media DeadlineCasting director Sophie Holland has released some information that should please fans:

We’re going to shoot season 4 with Liam Hemsworth, then there’s going to be a little break and we’re going to shoot straight into season 5.”

So a fifth season has been confirmed, well ahead of Netflix’s official announcement. The news follows designer Lauren Schmidt’s comments in the magazine The whole movie. The showrunner explained that he wanted to finish the series after Henry Cavill’s departure before reversing his decision because he was “There are so many stories to tell“.

Season 3 of The Witcher is available June 29 on Netflix.
