Brazil’s economy shrank less at the end of last year than previously calculated, contracting 0.1% in the fourth quarter versus a 0.2% decline previously reported.
The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) this Thursday revised gross domestic product data for all quarters of 2022, but maintained the calculation of 2.9% expansion last year.
According to the IBGE, GDP grew by 1.0% in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the previous three months, by 1.1% in the second and by 0.5% in the third quarter. Previously, the IBGE had announced expansions of 1.3%, 0.9% and 0.3%, respectively.
