Healthy eating gains importance in spas


The doctor explains the importance of a balanced diet for the well-being of patients during their hospitalization, as well as for the quality of life in general

According to a study carried out by The Good Food Institute (GFI) Brasil in collaboration with Ibope and published in Valor Investe in 2021, almost half of Brazilians (49%) showed interest in improving their eating habits. Furthermore, a global survey on eating habits during the Covid-19 pandemic, conducted by One Poll, revealed that 51% of people increased their consumption of fruit and vegetables. These data indicate a growing trend towards a healthier and more balanced diet.




A survey conducted by Sebrae (Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Businesses), in this same sense, has indicated a significant growth of 98% in the healthy food sector in recent years in Brazil. Furthermore, data from the Brasil Food Trends report indicated that the healthy food market showed an average annual growth rate of 12.3%.

In line with this trend, structures such as spas have devoted ample space to the theme of offering healthy food to guests. According to the doctor and owner of the SPA body possession, dr. Alfredo Cury, a balanced diet is essential to provide personalized care for physical and mental health.

“A healthy diet not only contributes to improved physical well-being, but also plays a vital role in relaxation and fighting anxiety,” she points out. “A balanced diet can improve quality of life, regardless of each person’s individual goals,” adds Cury.

The doctor emphasizes that healthy foods, rich in nutrients, provide the energy needed for daily activities and help avoid excessive fatigue and tiredness. “A balanced diet also promotes better quality sleep, which contributes to overall vitality and well-being,” he assesses.

For Cury, healthy eating allows the patient to fully enjoy the spa experience, with more energy, vitality and happiness. “The necessary nutrients help prevent disease and strengthen the immune system, among other benefits,” concludes the doctor.
