WTorre mentions the inconvenience for Passport customers and asks for flexibility from Palmeiras

The cheating between WTorre and Palmeias earned another chapter this Sunday. Following Verdão’s 3-1 win over Coritiba, the company issued a statement citing access problems to Allianz Parque for customers of Passaporte, a program run by the construction company.

To counter the action of the money changers, Alviverde has decided to implement facial recognition of fans at the entrance to the Palestinian stadium. The Passport program, on the other hand, allows season ticket holders to transfer their ticket to acquaintances.

“Regarding the problems that occurred due to the SEP’s obligation to implement facial biometrics for Allianz Parque Passport customers as of June 4, 2023, in the match between Palmeiras and Coritiba, Real Arenas had already alerted the SEP about the inconvenience that could be caused to customers of your product in an unplanned migration, outside the platform managed by Real Arenas and who did not respect the contracts established with their customers.Unfortunately, the procedure was carried out and caused inconvenience, which they could have been avoided, for the Palmeiras fans.” WTorre wrote.

The Allianz Parque manager also said his turnstiles were sealed and reopened just 10 minutes before the start of the match, valid for the ninth round of the Brazilian championship, after the determination of the Shock Troop, Police Military of the State of São Paulo.

Due to these issues, WTorre asked Palmeiras for more flexibility in the upcoming matches. The club will play again at the Allianz Parque on Wednesday, against Barcelona de Guayaquil, in the fifth round of group C of the Libertadores. The clash is scheduled for 21:30 (Brasilia time).

“We hope that for future matches the club will be more flexible and allow a hybrid operation and the implementation of the Real Arenas facial recognition system for its Allianz Parque Passport customers and supporters,” the company announced.

The situation regarding entry via facial biometrics has caused friction between Palmeiras and WTorre since the beginning of the week. To try to avoid problems for this match against Coritiba, the club has published a step-by-step guide on how to access the stadium using the new tool.

Regarding the problems that occurred due to the SEP’s obligation to implement facial biometrics for Allianz Parque Passport customers as of June 4, 2023, in the match between Palmeiras and Coritiba, Real Arenas had already alerted the SEP about the inconvenience that could be caused to customers of its product in an unplanned migration, outside the platform managed by Real Arenas and which has not respected the contracts established with its customers. Unfortunately the procedure was carried out and caused avoidable inconvenience to the Palmeiras fans.

In addition to the problems for Allianz Parque Passport customers, our turnstiles, which allow entry by card, and could mitigate the access problem, have been sealed. The equipment was reopened only 10 minutes into the match, after the determination of the Assault Troop, Military Police of the State of São Paulo, fearing the worsening of the situation.

Our concern has always been to have a system with all the functions, different from the product marketed by SEP, tested and with guaranteed safety.

We hope that for future matches the club will be more flexible and enable a hybrid operation and implementation of the Real Arenas facial recognition system for its Allianz Parque Passport customers and supporters.

Real Arenas continues its commitment to prioritize the best experience for its customers who attend the best and most complete arena in Latin America.”
