“Stranger Things” director and executive producer Shawn Levy continues to anticipate volume 2 of season 4 and has said he is ready to “hit you right in the heart”.
In a long interview with The Hollywood reporterdirector Shawn Levy has promised a Season 4 Volume 2 “as thrilling as it is cinematic” and urged fans of the series not to be put off by the episodes’ long length.
While volume 1 is made up of 7 episodes of considerable length, volume 2 will only have two episodes, but episode 8 will be 1 hour and 25 minutes long, while episode 9, the last episode of the season, will be 2 incredible hours and 30 minutes.
“There is a lot to write about the length of these episodes and particularly the robust length of episode nine. After watching the last two episodes, they are as emotional as they are cinematic. Heck, they’re definitely a feast for the eyes, but they punch you in the heart, ”commented the director of“ Stranger Things ”.
Levy also talked about the episodes already released, discussing some mysteries revealed in the first part of the season. “One thing I love about the Duffers, who have very different personalities from mine, they are a different generation from me, but where we always understand each other is that we do things for the public. We’re not here to tell stories just for ourselves, ”said the director.
He continued: “In a world where so many shows go wrong, I love the fact that the Duffers came to episode seven of our penultimate season and said, ‘You know what? The answers are good. And now is the time. It’s time to explain a lot of what’s going on, ‘”she continued.
“So, for example, I love the fact that we were able to give our audience so much narrative satisfaction with these explanations. It rephrases everything we know about Hawkins’ evil and the supernatural villains we face, and I don’t want to reveal too much about volume two and season five, but it certainly also serves as a stepping stone for what’s to come next. “
