Massive premiere at KION! A new film adaptation has appeared on the Russian streaming service novel by Alexandre Dumas “Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan” with the stars of French cinema. The role of the spy Milady Winter went to the languid Eva Green, and the handsome Vincent Cassel, Francois Civil, Romain Duris and Pio Marmay played the Musketeers. And this is only the first part of the dilogy about the adventures of four legendary friends and a seductive villain. The release of the continuation called “The Three Musketeers: Milady” is scheduled for December 2023.
The film was directed by Martin Bourbulon, who shot a grandiose and colorful action with a stellar European cast, while preserving the original plot of Dumas as much as possible. The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan is Martin Bourboulon’s fourth directorial work. He is known for the critically acclaimed films Eiffel (2021), Peddling Love (2015) and French Divorce (2016).
The tape was produced by Chapter 2 and Pathé. The filming set took place in France, and among the notable locations in the frame were the Louvre, Fontainebleau Palace, Fort-la-Latte castle, and the city of Saint-Germain-en-Laye. More than 9 thousand extras, more than 2 thousand costumes and 650 horses were involved in the shooting.
