Libertadores: Argentinos Jrs beats Liverpool and is in the round of 16

This Wednesday (7), Argentinos Juniors beat Liverpool, 2 to 1. The Argentines have advanced in the competition. The teams met at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium in Argentina in a match valid for the 5th round of the Copa Libertadores. Rúben Betancourt scored the goal for the Uruguayans. Leonardo Heredia equalized, while Villalba doubled.

With the result, Argentinos Juniors are in 1st place, with 10 points. Independiente Del Valle, who beat Corinthians, are in second place, with nine points, followed by Liverpool, who have five. The Brazilians are last, with four goals.

First time

The match was fairly even, with attempts from both sides. Hosts Argentinos Juniors dominated more and gave Britos problems in the box. Despite the intensity, few plays were truly dangerous. In the 34th minute Ávaros received in the center and finished with a volley, but Federico Pereira seemed to deflect. Two minutes later, Francisco González received in the area, but stopped the Uruguayan goalkeeper.

After the draw, the match was very eventful. The home team had more chances, but without much effect. At the end of the match, the home team managed to expand. Heredia straightens up and Villalba stretches.
