The Byers have traded the darkness of Hawkins for this sunny California town. We have looked for it on the map and this is what we have discovered.
The ‘Stranger Things’ season 4 broadens horizons outside of Hawkins. It is not a “spoiler” because thanks to the advances we already knew that the plot would take place in various scenarios in the new chapters that are already available on Netflix. Apart from the mythical town in which all the problems with the ‘Upside Down’ are born, part of the story takes place in frozen Russia (in reality, it seems that the snowy scenes belong to Lithuania), where Hopper remains imprisoned, and in sunny California. As you will remember, the Byers moved in the last chapter of the previous installment and incorporated Eleven into the family, after Jim’s supposed death.
At the start of the episodes that have just landed we see Ce in his new house with Joyce, Jonathan and Will. They now reside in a quiet housing estate in a place called Leonora Hills. Surely when you saw it, you felt the same curiosity as us and you may have wondered if this city exists. After activating our GPS, we have the answer.
Lenora Hills, as such, does not exist and would not be in California either. The images we see in the series would correspond to Albuquerque, New Mexico. In fact, during filming they suffered a tremendous fire on this stage, although there was no personal injury. The institute where Will and Eleven study would actually be Eldorado High School. In case one day you travel there and want to visit it to feel as if you were inside what is already one of the best science fiction series in history.
