Tonight on Netflix: You can’t get tired of watching this movie a hundred times!

In 1985, Marty McFly is a teenager like any other… except for one small detail. While he tries to break into his high school rock band and borrows his parents’ car to take his girlfriend on a weekend getaway, he also spends a lot of time with his best friend: the eccentric and visionary Dr. Emmett Brown.

One evening, the latter secretly arranges to meet Marty in an abandoned mall parking lot to present him with his new invention: a time machine that looks like a DeLorean. When things go wrong and a group of arms dealers attack a scientist, Marty tries to escape in a car and lands in 1955, the year his parents met.

A timeless monument to cinema and pop culture, the first installment of Back to the Future (as well as its two equally successful sequels) is one of those works that we never tire of rediscovering, no matter how many previous viewings we’ve seen.

While it’s always interesting to explore lesser-known nuggets, the lack of inspiration can sometimes be felt when it comes to searching for a new movie to watch, and in such a situation, give yourself time to fall back on safe values! Back to the Future is definitely one of them, and for many reasons.

With an average rating of 4,447 stars out of 5 from AlloCinĂ© viewers (making it the 4th best sci-fi film of all time and the 32nd best film across all genres), Zemeckis’ feature brilliantly explores many registers, and almost everyone agrees.

Whether you’re looking for a fun comedy, a true adventure film, a beautiful romance, or a family epic, Steven Spielberg’s mid-’80s feature film has it all. With Alan Silverstone’s memorable theme and its unstoppable screenplay, Back to the Future also works thanks to the incomparable alchemy shared by its two lead actors: Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd.

VF fans should also note that Zemeckis’ film benefits from some of the best French voice casting in existence, and that we meet, namely, Luke Hammett, Pierre Hette, CĂ©line Monsarrat, Dominique Collignon-Maurin and of course Richard Darbois.

So many arguments that might make you decide to travel back to 1955 at 88 miles per hour, especially if you’re a young time traveler among you who’s never tried the adventure before!
