We can already take a first look at the trailer for the remake of ‘American Gigolo’, Richard Gere’s 1980 film.
‘American Gigolo’ returns as a seriesand we can already take our first look at the teaser trailer for the remake produced by Showtime.
Made by Jon Bernthalthe series will be based on the plot of the 1980 film directed by paul schrader and starring Richard Gere.
Both the original film and the new series introduce us to Julian Kaye, a sex worker from Los Angeles highly valued for his convincing lovemaking techniques (put it in some way). But Kaye hides a dark past in which he was convicted of a murder that he claims he did not commit. When past and present collide, Julian finds himself caught up in a spiral of crime and sensuality. So, as a concept, it doesn’t look bad. For us, of course. Not for him.
In addition, Julian will have to fix his relationship with his mother and with the love of his life, his ex-partner Michelle (Gretchen Mol).
Together with Bernthal and Mol, in the trailer we can confirm that they will accompany them in the cast Rosie O’Donnell, Lizzie Brocheré and Leland Orser. Other performers announced as Wayne Brady and Laura Liguori They will also have supporting roles in the show, although we haven’t seen them in the trailer.
The main showrunner David Hollander recently had to leave the production due to allegations of misconduct on the set, which in principle have nothing to do with sexual themes, and the series seems to have been left in the hands of Hollander’s collaborator, and current co-executive producer of the series, David Bar Katz.
Showtime has not announced a premiere date. or ratings by ages, but considering the reputation of the network and the theme of the series, we do not rule out the two rhombuses
