Understand the role of a sustainability professional, one of the most promising professions of the future
On May 1, 2023 the World Economic Forum Future of Work 2023 report. Research suggests nearly a quarter of jobs (23%) are expected to change over the next five years.
This report is just one of the latest in a long series of research and analyzes that warn us about changes to come in the labor market. The sheer amount of news about the future of the job market brings a lot of anxiety and angst about our choices and how to prepare for it. Little is said about the growing demand for promising new professions, one of which is the sustainability professional.
The rise of environmental, social and governance (ESG) sustainability has led to the emergence of many new businesses and professions focused on these areas. According to the specialized website Glass door, the national average salary for a Sustainability Specialist is R$ 10,520 in Brazil. And the demand is high! Just look at the announcements on the sites of the most diverse companies such as Enel, TOTVS or Ambev. This research illustrates how fundamental these professions are to help companies integrate sustainable practices and meet the growing demands for social and environmental responsibility.
