The President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, will receive his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, on 21 June.
Lula will travel to Europe next week to attend a conference on the green economy organized by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, on June 22 and 23.
Prior to this event, the PT will visit Rome and is also expected to meet Pope Francis, who is still recovering from surgery on his abdomen performed on June 7.
A source from Palazzo Planalto told ANSA that Lula will also meet the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, who even visited him in prison in Curitiba in 2018, when he was a MEP.
