Created by Tony Gilroy, Andor is a live-action series that serves as a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It centers on Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) five years before the dangerous mission to the tropical planet Scarif, and tells how Cassian Andor joins the rebellion against the Galactic Empire, joining what would become known as the Rebel Alliance.
Acclaimed by critics and sections of the public, Andor seduces with its political discourse and more mature tone. Even in his language, because there was swearing in one of the episodes. One of the Imperial soldiers actually uttered the words “Hash” (“merde” in French), is the first dirty word heard in the Star Wars universe in 45 years.

You’d think Disney and Lucasfilm would have given Tony Gilroy’s Andor complete freedom of tone and writing with that first swear word, but the other insults were cut in the edit.
There is no F-word in the Star Wars universe
during the interview varietyDirector Benjamin Caron revealed that the word “perverted“Used in Maarva’s (Fiona Shaw) motivational speech against the Empire. The phrase “Damn empire” (“Em Fuck the Empire”, in French) changed to “”Fight the empire(“Fighting the Empire”, in French).
“Disney didn’t let us use it”revealed by Benjamin Caron. So we changed it to “fight”.
But Disney wouldn’t let Tony Gilroy use the word “fuck,” one of the most taboo swear words on American television. The word is not authorized and even censored in Atlantic broadcasts when people use it. This is a word that is otherwise rarely spelled and replaced by abbreviations such as the “f-word” or “f***”.
However, Tony Gilroy struggled for a long time. He explained that he had written a sort of small legal file: “I wrote a note about it and said, ‘Here’s why I think it makes good economic sense, and here’s why I think it’s good for history.’
Maarva’s speech is one of Andor’s most moving moments, as it is a message recorded and transmitted via hologram at her funeral. It is his words that fuel the rebellion against the Empire. but without words”perverted“,
The Andorra series is available on Disney+.
