Disney’s first steps

Pinocchio is just the second animated feature film from Disney Studios to be released on the big screen after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937. It will be followed by Fantasia in 1940, Dumbo in 1941, then Bambi in 1942.

Deleted scene

As is usually the case during the development of a Disney feature film, several sequences are cut out and therefore do not appear in the film as we know it. One of them, especially impressive for a young audience, showed Jeppeto and his cat Figaro in the belly of a whale monster. Hungry, they lost their minds and changed their minds about eating Cleo fish until they changed their minds.

Coming soon to Disney +

Directed by Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit), a live-action version of Pinocchio will be released on September 8 on Disney +. Jimin Cricket will have a vocal interpretation by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, while the role of Jepetto will be played by Tom Hanks: an actor who knows Zemeckis well from his many collaborations with him, in Forrest Gump, Alone in the World or at the Pole Express. .
