Marvel looking for a successful director to direct “Fantastic Four”

New information has revealed that Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios are looking for a famous director, in the style of Sam Raimi, to direct the next “Fantastic Four”.

The information comes from Deadline magazine reporter Justin Kroll, who shared on Twitter that the search for Jon Watts’ replacement continues, but that it may take a while for the vacancy to finally be filled.

“One source says don’t expect it to fill up at any time, as they’re nowhere near reducing [uma] a long list of candidates, “Kroll said, and quoted his source as saying,” I would be shocked if a choice was made before Labor Day. “Labor Day is the holiday in the United States that the source refers to. Kroll, and it always takes place on the first Monday of September, and this year it will be September 5th.

The “Fantastic Four” reboot directorial vacancy was opened by director Jon Watts, who gained even more fame following the release of the worldwide hit “Spider-Man: No Return Home” (he directed all three films of the trilogy), he withdrew from the project.

Despite such a delay in defining the project director, which is taking longer to take off than some fans expected, Kroll offered further suggestions as to where the choice might lead. According to this information, Kevin Feige and Marvel would be looking for successful directors, in the same way as Sam Raimi, who was successful with “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”.

The reason the research points in this direction would be that Feige, president of Marvel Studios, has enjoyed the experience of working with an experienced director like Sam Raimi, as he needs to oversee a giant universe of MCU productions, which has grown even more. more after the arrival of the Disney + series.

“While no names have emerged, several sources say that while it’s a great mix of candidates, Feige and the company are betting big on some big names,” Kroll said, adding, “A source close to the cause. [disse]”Kevin doesn’t want to supervise all of the shots and after not having to worry about it with Raimi, he’s very willing to do the same with these shots.”

Despite being constantly on the lookout for new talent, Marvel seems to be going as before with “Fantastic Four”, with directors already established and established in the Hollywood market. With the first trilogy, also from 20th Century Fox, showing mixed results, Marvel Studios seem unwilling to take any chances with this group of heroes, who will enter the MCU for the first time.

Still without a director, casting will likely take even longer, although it is unknown if John Krasinski, introduced as Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic in “Doctor Strange 2”, he will return to the role again or if another actor takes over, since his appearance was in an alternate reality.

The reboot of “Fantastic Four” does not yet have an announced release date.

The Marvel post in search of a successful director to direct “Fantastic Four” first appeared on Digital Look.
