With the arrival of the new Marvel series on Disney+, some fans are wondering what they should watch before seeing “Secret Invasion”. In this matter, find out everything you need to start the marathon of the new MCU production.
In this new adventure, set after the events of “Avengers: Endgame”, the actor Samuel L. Jackson returns to interpret the agent Nick Fury. He is joined by several familiar faces – including Everett Ross (Martin Freeman), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) and Rhodey (Don Cheadle) – to fight off a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of Skrull shapeshifter.
Captain Marvel (2019)
The Skrulls first appear in “Captain Marvel” (2019). Sometimes we find out that they are just refugees trying to survive persecution rather than being a predatory alien race.
In this film we meet Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) as he leads his people in an attempt to find a new home. Finally, we see the shape-shifter form an alliance with Nick Fury and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson).
Knowing this alien race is essential to the new series. After all, after years of being promised a new home, some Skrulls feel disillusioned, angry, and even combative.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
Our first contact with Fury occurred in the post-credit scenes of “Iron Man” (2008). Since then, we’ve seen his rise in the Marvel story arc and his eventual fall with the blip in “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018).
In this feature film, we get the first indication that Captain Marvel is on her way, when Fury uses a sort of pager to signal danger to her. Though the victims of the blip later revived, Fury appears to be quite traumatized, as he will be reminded multiple times that he is not the same person he was in “Secret Invasion”.

If you can’t remember exactly what happened, this production is worth rewatching to capture the end-of-the-party mood.
“Spider-Man: Far From Home” (2019)
After the success of the mission in “Avengers: Endgame” (2019), it seems that superheroes are getting back to the grind. In “Spider-Man: Far From Home” (2019), Peter Parker (Tom Holland) takes on a new villain with the help of Fury and Hill.
However, it’s only in the post-credits scenes of the production that we discover that he was, in fact, being helped by Talos and his wife: the Skrulls were impersonating the agents, who were in space.
While the reason for the trip is revealed in the first two episodes of “Secret Invasion,” the important thing here is to know that this is the second time the race has appeared in the MCU.
