After Elementary: What’s Pixar’s Next Movie?

Peter Sohn’s Elementary just hit our darkrooms, but animation studio Pixar is already dating its next feature.

After bringing the elements to life and the beautiful love story of water and fire, the studio returns to the center on February 28, 2024 with the sci-fi film Elio, in which a little boy is abducted by aliens.

Directed by Adrian Molina, co-director of AlloCiné’s top Pixar film Coco, the film follows Elio, a child full of imagination. The latter is unwittingly teleported to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization consisting of representatives of galaxies far, far away.

Mistaken by these high places as an ambassador for Earth, Elio is prepared for such pressure. His adventures lead him to connect with eccentric extraterrestrials, survive tests more powerful than others, but also, one way or another, discover who he really should be.

For their 28th feature film, the 1986 studio is returning to sci-fi, a genre already explored in WALL-E (2008) and, more recently, Buzz Lightyear (2021).

Produced by Mary Alice Drumm (associate producer of Coco), Elio will be voiced by a young Jonah Kibrabi, who voices the protagonist, America Ferrera (Olga, Elio’s mother), Jameela Jamil (l Ambassador Kesta). ) and Brad Garrett (Ambassador Grignon).

Just a few months after Elio , director Kelsey Mann’s ( Sparkshorts – Purl ) Vice Versa 2 hits our theaters. We’ll find Riley there. During adolescence, the latter experiences all kinds of new emotions… Joy, sadness, anger, disgust and fear are enough to live a great adventure!

It’s enough to put the studio, which recently laid off 75 employees, including famous directors, on its feet.
