Rumors about the next Deadpool movie keep growing. If the speculations are true, ‘Deadpool 3’ promises to be a massive crossover in the style of ‘Spider-Man: No Going Home’, bringing surprises from the Marvel universe. Insider KC Walsh has been responsible for the latest wave of rumors, revealing that Ben Affleck, best known for his role as Batman in DC, has been spotted on the set of the Marvel film.
Walsh said on social media that he’s not sure who Affleck will play in the new film. But the gamble is that the actor could appear as the version of Daredevil he played in the hero’s film, released in 2003.
The possible presence of Daredevil
Affleck’s appearance as Daredevil would be plausible if the film truly explores the concept of the Multiverse, as previous reports point out. This perspective is reinforced by the alleged presence of characters such as Mobius, played by Owen Wilson, and Miss Minutes, both from the “Loki” series.
Affleck’s participation in the film would be a rescue for 20th Century Fox’s franchise, which intended to create a shared universe that began with the 2003 film and would extend to the film “Elektra,” starring Jennifer Garner. However, after the commercial failure of ‘Elektra’ which grossed only $57 million worldwide on a $50 million budget, the plans were scrapped.
Even the X-Men
Rumors also indicate that the film will feature appearances from original X-Men members, including Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, and James Marsden, who will reprise their roles as Storm, Jean Grey, and Cyclops, respectively.
At least one of the original X-Men is actually confirmed: Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the film. He is one of the official names of the production, together with Ryan Reynolds, interpreter of Deadpool, and secondary actors of the previous mutant films: Karan Soni as Dopinder, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Stefan Kapicic as Colossus, Rob Delaney as Peter , Brianna Hildebrand as Megasonic Teenage Warhead and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio.
Even Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, responsible for the scripts of the previous films, return to sign the story. Directed by Shawn Levy, who recently directed Reynolds in ‘Free Guy’ (2021) and ‘The Adam Project’ (2022).
The premiere is scheduled for March 4, 2024 in Brazil, one day before the United States.
