Known to us as Newport Beach, it took the OC just four seasons to celebrate an entire generation of teens around the world and thus establish a place in the pantheon of the most iconic teen dramas.
It all starts with the arrival of the brilliant but troubled Ryan Atwood (Ben McKenzie) in the lives of wealthy Newport Beach residents in Orange County, California. The generous juvenile offender was, in fact, captured by the Cohen – the family of a lawyer appointed by his court – and now has to find his place in this new environment that is radically opposed to the poorer neighborhoods where he grew up.
Between falling in love with a neighbor girl (Misha Burton) and failing in school halls, Ryan can rely on the support of his newly adopted brother, the sarcastic and clumsy Seth Cohen (Adam Broad), who has been in love since childhood. Popular Summer (Rachel Bilson).
When Fox commissioned the series pilot Josh Schwartz – making him the youngest creator of drama series in American television history at the age of 26 – the channel then saw only a short show of “Summer” on The OC. But in the face of his rapid success, he finally decides to roll it out and offer it a special place in his fall schedule – and in our hearts.
Are you also a nostalgic fan of Newport Beach? Are you ready to test yourself on this topic? So here we go: California is here!
