Body found on mountain where Smallville actor disappeared

This Saturday (17th), California police revealed that remains were discovered in the Mount Baldy area of southern state where British actor Julian Sands disappeared nearly six months ago. He is best known for playing Jor-El, the biological father of Superman in the series “Smallville”, a Warner production in 2001.

In a statement, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said tourists visiting the mountains had reported finding a body, which was forwarded to the coroner’s office for identification.

Sands, 65, was reported missing in January while hiking in the Mount Baldy region. According to Uol, efforts to search for the actor were halted in February, due to bad weather conditions in the United States at the time, and resumed a week ago.

An accomplished mountaineer, he once described himself as the happiest person “near the top of a mountain on a glorious, cold morning.”

Posthumous tributes to Jor-El’s interpreter have already begun on social media, even without confirmation of his death.

Another prominent Sands TV character is international businessman Miles Castner, from the eighth season of “Dexter” (2006). He also has outstanding characters in cinema, such as the protagonist of ‘Warlock’ (1989) and its sequel, ‘Warlock 2: Armageddon’ (1993), and the horror film ‘The Phantom of the Opera’, from 1998.

The actor lives in North Hollywood, Los Angeles with writer Evgenia Citkowitz, with whom he is married and has two daughters, Imogen and Natalya. He is still Henry’s father, from his previous marriage, to journalist Sarah Sands.
